Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This policy explains how The Profile Edit ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal information when you buy or enquire about our services. We are based in the United Kingdom and act as the "data controller" for your information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

If you have any questions, contact us any time at hello@trytheprofileedit.co.

1. What we collect

When you use our service, we collect:

Payments are handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.

2. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

3. Your photo and AI, your consent

To create your professional headshots, the photograph you upload will be processed using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, which may be provided by trusted third-party companies acting on our behalf. By ticking the consent box on our form, you agree to your photograph being processed in this way for the sole purpose of producing your headshots.

We will not use your photograph to train AI models for unrelated purposes, and we will not sell it or use it for anything other than delivering your order. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing us, though this may mean we cannot complete the headshots part of your order.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed to deliver your order. These may include:

These providers act as our "processors" and are only allowed to use your data on our instructions. Some may be based outside the UK; where that happens, we take steps to ensure your data is protected to UK standards.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your CV, photograph and answers only as long as we need them to deliver your order, and we aim to delete them within 30 days of completing your edit, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. We keep minimal records of the transaction (such as your name, email and order details) for as long as we are legally required to, for example for tax purposes.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email hello@trytheprofileedit.co. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies

Our website is a simple site and does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) to serve those fonts.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the "last updated" date shown at the top.
